Condolences

Condolence From: LOREN L HOLMBERG
Condolence: I sadly, only just now became aware of Rex's passing. I watched a Western movie with the title "an Eye for an Eye". At the end of the movie is a dedication to Rex. I knew Rex from the 70's and 80's in Oregon. I was involved with land development with him and Charley Gotanda. I had guided Rex and his sons into the Eagle Cap Wilderness elk hunting. I am Sharon Kendall's brother-in-law. I have nothing but good memories of Rex!

Condolence From: Thomas E George
Condolence: I would like to send my condolences to brother Larry Martin and the rest of the family whom I have not met. Losing a loved one is always difficult
From a personal standpoint I have known Rex since attending Bakersfield High School circa 1954 and Bakersfield College (1956) I remember that Rex was an outstanding pilot, having started In high school and continuing on to graduate from the Naval Aviation cadets. Although I havent seen Rex in many years I still considered him a good friend. We did cross paths a couple of times along the way; once in the Navy and later on in Bakersfield.
When a person passes whom you have known well, first it is sort of a shock and then the memories come flooding back . When you havent seen someone in a long time you think they are going to live on and on. And time catches up to surprise us. I am sure he will be missed by many people in Bakersfield as well as myself.
