Alicia Flores at the age of 81 passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in Bakersfield, CA.
Alicia was born on June 21, 1941, in Edinburgh Texas she was proceeded in death by her husband Isidoro Flores her parents Jose Cardenas and Olivia Martinez.
She met her husband at the age of 19 years old. Together they welcomed seven children.
She was widowed at 29, she worked tirelessly as a farm laborer, many times she came home after dark, and although she was tired and had no time for herself, she managed to sit with her children in the evening and tell them stories. She was a great cook and enjoyed being a homemaker. She enjoyed fixing her home up, making it beautiful and comfortable. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. She was a strong independent woman. She loved to sew when she was younger. She would always add those extra touches to any of her kid's or grandkids' clothes. She was 81 years old with extra-long nails, every time she went shopping people commented on her nails and she enjoyed the attention. One of her favorite things she loved to do was go shopping not just for herself but for her family, she was very generous. If you went to visit her, she has something for you. She enjoyed being around her children, being on the phone, and telling stories and jokes, she had a unique sense of humor that would catch us off guard which would leave us laughing. The time spent with her are ones we will cherish and miss. As we say goodbye let us never forget who she was. She was the heart and soul of our family she was our everything
She is survived by her children Jesusita (Susie) Flores, Guadalupe (Lupie) Castaneda, her twin sons: Rodolfo "Rudy" Flores, Rogelio "Roger" Flores, Olivia Flores, Rachel Flores, and Kathy Flores Oros.
