Obituary for Stephen Michael Hoyt

It is with great sadness; the family of Stephen Hoyt shares the news of his passing on Thursday, December 10th, peacefully at home.
Steve was born in Bakersfield, California to Stephanie Roberts and Maurice Hoyt on May 9th, 1954. He was the father to three children and inherited three more when he married Leanne on February 13th, 2000. Steve retired after working in the oil business as a floor hand, driller, and a company man over the span of 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, fishing, gardening, in the backyard, and cooking. Steve loved not only riding motorcycles but loved to work on them as well. Steve will be remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor, exuding self-confidence, ability to supervise just about anyone doing just about any job, and outgoing personality.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Stephanie Roberts and Maurice Hoyt and his uncle, Timothy Roberts.
Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife Leanna Hoyt, children; Time and Melissa Hoyt, Tamara and Aaron Pitts, Stephen and Nichole Hoyt, James and Dawn Gragg, Michael and Lori Gragg, and Rudy and Lisa Gragg, 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers; Louie Hoyt, Michael Harris, Matthew Harris, and David Harris, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to invite you to the viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the memorial service that will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest in Building A (2739 Panama Ln. Bakersfield, CA 93313). Steve will then be laid to rest at the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, California. Graveside burial will be for immediate family only. Reception to follow at the home of Leanna Hoyt located at (3005 Clear Falls Ct. Bakersfield, CA 93308).
