Stacy Lee Prince, beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 23, 2022 in Bakersfield, CA. She was 59 years old.
Stacy was born on December 17, 1962 in Napa, California to Larry and Edith Prince, the second of three children. She graduated from Vintage High School in 1980. She married Stephen Ganger on August 22, 1981 and had twin sons Kevin and Benjamin in 1985. Her baby, Anthony, arrived in 1996 with long-term partner Mark Osgood. She had a 35-year career in food services at Napa State Hospital, which she retired from in 2018.
Stacy was always a force to be reckoned with! She had a strong will, a great sense of humor, and a fierce loyalty to the people she loved. She was the ultimate mama bear, and was so proud of her children, never missing a football game, play, or concert. She maintained a close relationship with her parents and brothers throughout her life, living in Hesperia, CA with her parents for several years before moving to Bakersfield to be closer to her son Anthony and her son Kevin and his family. In Bakersfield, she achieved one of her lifelong dreams of owning her own home. Her love and loyalty were not limited to just her family, as she became an honorary mom to many of Anthony’s friends. She was always willing to bring another son or daughter into the family and her home was always welcome to anyone who needed it.
Some of Stacy’s most enduring relationships were with her girlfriends, especially her best friend Christine, along with little Chrissy, Ernestine, and Renee. She shared nearly 40 years of devoted friendship with her girlfriends, and always had plans for their next adventures. Some of her favorite hobbies included camping, fishing, and finding frog festivals to take her grandkids to.
Stacy was a survivor who beat breast cancer at 38 and battled numerous health issues throughout her life. Even when her health was weak, nothing could dampen her fiery spirit. She is survived by her parents, Larry and Edith; brothers Joe and Ed; along with children Kevin, Ben, and Anthony; and grandchildren Olivia, Naomi, Ivan, and Marian.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate the life of Stacy Prince on Saturday, August 20, 2-4pm at Vallejo Moose Lodge, 337 Nebraska St. Vallejo, CA.
