Obituary for Sherry L. Goodwin

Obituary

Sherry Goodwin returned to her heavenly home on February 2, 2021 after a valiant battle of many illnesses. She has joined all of her lost loved ones in heaven without any sickness or pain.

Sherry was born to the late Hayward S Robinson and Mary Lavern Bishop Kerr, in Tifton, GA on January 20, 1956. In her late teen years, she moved to Missouri where she would spend the next 45 years setting roots, raising her beautiful family, and starting a company with her husband.

Sherry was blessed with a loving family. She married her best friend, Ritchie Goodwin, on January 25, 1985 in Kansas City, MO. They shared over 38 years of laughs, tears, and love together; they were blessed to spend their final moments together hand in hand. Sherry and Ritchie raised their three children with patience, discipline and love. She taught them to stand for their beliefs, always exceed expectations, work hard, and to treat others how they want to be treated. She dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to explore all the beauty of life has to offer. Sherry had an extraordinary impact on the life of her Grandson, Noah. She has been with Noah almost everyday of his entire life; showering him with life lessons, compassion, and an extra special kind of love only a Grammy can give. Sherry spent the last three years of her life living in California where she was able to be with her family, take in the beautiful scenery, and experience amazing adventures.

Sherry made everyone she met feel like family. She loved showing her love through her food by making cookies, brownies, and fudge as gifts, always making your favorite foods when you came to visit or for your special celebration, and always hosting dinners for family and friends during the Holidays.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Ritchie; her sons Michael and Cory Moseby; her daughter Deirdre Goodwin; her grandson Noah Goodwin; and her brothers, Derek and David Robinson. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah and Wanda Robinson; her parents; and her grandson, Kylin Mims.

Sherry Goodwin's memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 3rd, at 2:00pm pst. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest in Bakersfield, CA. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted on her facebook memorial page.
