Obituary for Sheila Louise Power

To know her, is to love her. Sheila brought joy to this world and into everyone’s lives she encountered.

Sheila was born on December 1, 1953, to her parents Calvin Power and Melba Bailey, in Dos Palos, California. Sheila passed away on October 8, 2023, in Bakersfield, California.

She started her working career as an air traffic controller and spent her last days selflessly still caring for others as an amazing caregiver. Sheila could be found at any bingo hall, casino, bowling alley, out exploring the great outdoors, and rooting for the Dodgers. But most of all, her greatest joy was spending time and making new memories with her children and grandchildren. Sheila was a loving, supportive, charismatic, and generous mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Sheila will be lovingly remembered by her children – Amber (Dusty), Melanie (Jeremy), Stephanie (George) and her grandchildren – Jacob and Jayden. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister, brothers, cousins, and other family members.

“Our Momma lit up every room she walked into, never met a stranger, taught us to love Jesus, and to never let anyone steal our Joy.” We love you momma.
