On August 24, 2022, Sharon passed away peacefully at home in Bakersfield, CA with loved ones by her side. She died after a long battle with cancer. She was a loving and caring wife and mother, NaNa and wonderful life companion. She will be sorely missed.
Sharon was born in Ypsilanti, Ml on April 25, 1950 and moved at a young age to California. At about age 16 the family moved to Hawaii. Sharon spent about 26 years in Hawaii where she married (Adam Camara) and started a family.
Sharon's second marriage was to Daniel Ihde in Bakersfield, CA on Oct. 7th, 1993.
Between them Dan and Sharon have seven children and 12 Grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Anthony J. deContreras and Beatrice B. deContreras (Kelly) and is survived by her husband Daniel Ihde, brother Michael deContreras and children Anthony Camara, John Camara, Jason Camara, Amaris Moore (Camara), Lauren Ihde-Cook, James Ihde and Jennifer Ihde-Stafford.
Sharon primarily worked as a bookkeeper with different Property Management Companies during her working life.
Sharon was an avid quilter and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed playing handbells at several different churches in Bakersfield. Sharon also enjoyed traveling and we were fortunate enough to take several trips together.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 10:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church. 4500 Buena Vista Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93311.
