Sharon Ann Cundiff (Nana)
August 31, 1939 – October 14, 2020
Sharon was born August 31, 1939 in Miami, Oklahoma to Ruby & Jake Lowery. Sharon married the love of her life, George Cundiff Jr. on May 2, 1953, and were blessed with five daughters: Georgia Payne, Katie Claborn, Tresha Beam, Tammy Cundiff & Linda Hansen; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. On October 14, 2020, Sharon left this earth to be with the LORD at age 81. Sharon passed away peacefully at home with her family at her bedside.
Sharon and George moved to Bakersfield, California, in 1966 where they raised their family and ran a successful construction business. Later in life, Sharon became a greeter at Walmart on White Lane and was the Smile at the door for 10 years.
Sharon loved being a mother to her five daughters and grandmother to her grandchildren. She was very proud of her daughters and all of their many accomplishments. Sharon was an avid fan of John Wayne and loved listening to Elvis Presley; she even named her dogs after him, Elvis and Priscilla. All of her girls and grandchildren will remember the elephant tray she used to serve their food on when they were ill. Over the past two years, mom would look forward to evening phone calls from her oldest daughter, Georgia, where they would discuss what they were going to watch on TV. Sharon was loved by all and her family will miss their mom and Nana.
Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, George Cundiff Jr., her beloved daughter, Tresha Beam, and also by her sister, Catherine Mills and her brother, Everett Lowery Sr.
