Obituary for Saul Duran Castro

Saul Duran Castro was born on July 30,1944 and passed away March 2, 2021 in Bakersfield, California at 76 years of age.
He was born and raised in Lamont, California by his mother Enriqueta Duran Castro and father Porfirio Castro.
Saul graduated in 1962 from Arvin High School, served in the Army as a Veteran of the Gulf War Era, Peacetime and Vietnam Era. Saul moved to San Fernando Valley where he later enlisted in the Air Force, Air National Guards and served in Dessert Storm and Desert Shield.
Saul enjoyed reading the Bible, meditating and taking early morning walks. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and coaching baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to BBQ with family, along with friends that became family over the years. Any one was welcome in the Castro home for conversation and a meal.
Saul is survived by his son Mark Zaragoza Castro, son-in-law Augie Zaragoza Castro, grandchildren Michael Delgado and spouse Whitney Delgado, Marinna Castillo and spouse Javier Castillo, Matthew Delgado, son-in-law Manuel Delgado, Vanessa Castro, Marcos Castro Jr. and spouse Jasmine Castro, and Seth Castro along with nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Castro, daughter Melissa E. Delgado, and son Saul D. Castro Jr.
