Salome Montenegro Domingo, 96, of Bakersfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, Celebration of Life Chapel 2739 Panama Lane Bakersfield, CA. Interment immediately following rosary.

She was born November 18, 1923, in Alaminos, Laguna, Philippines to parents Anacleto Montenegro and Zosima Cuenca. She is preceded in death by beloved husband of 60 years, Francisco B. Domingo and daughter, Agnes Fabiero. She is survived by her son, Ibsen, and daughter-in-law Melo Domingo; daughter, Odina, and son-in-law, Rey de Claro; son-in-law Edwin Fabiero; grandchildren Dante Fabiero, Elisa Sio, Lindy Fabiero; Darren de Claro,Conrad de Claro; Nina Domingo, Michelle Azurin; great-grandchildren Talalelei Ali’itoa Sio and Freddie Villoria Fabiero.

Salome and her family migrated to the United States in August 1973. After settling in Delano, CA, she continued her teaching career with Delano Joint Union High School. She taught at Valley High School, also known as Ignacio Valencia High School Continuation program, and instructed GED preparation classes two nights a week for the Delano Adult School. Her passion for teaching led to a rewarding career as an educator surpassing 45 years. With unparalleled patience, she inspired and motivated her students to set goals and strive to attain them. It was always a pleasant time whenever she encountered former students because of the sincere happiness she felt upon hearing of their accomplishments.

Salome influenced the lives of many individuals, young and old. She was a devoted Catholic, a loving wife, devoted mother, caring grandmother and great grandmother. Through her nurturing, patience and unconditional love, she taught lifelong lessons. Your spirit lives within us, forever in our hearts “Lola Mommy”.
