Obituary for Rosie Ybanez Hernandez

Rosie Y. Hernandez
March 6, 1930 – February 27, 2021

Rosie was born on March 6,1930 in Tulare, CA. She went to be with the lord on February 27, 2021 at the age of 90, in the presence of her family at home. Rosie is preceded in death byher beloved husband Edward J. Hernandez, parents Lorenzo and Calletana Ybanez, brothers Cruz, Alfred, and Loren Ybanez and sisters Esther Ybanez and Millie Medina. Survivors left to share wonderful memories are her son Edward Hernandez Jr. and wife Sallie, daughters Teresa Virrey, Eva McBride and husband Barry, Maria Long and husband Nick and brothers Gilbert Ybanez, Pete Ybanez and Wife Eleanor and sister Connie Romero. She’s left a wonderful legacy behind with 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and numerous godchildren.

Rosie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always made sure everyone was taken care of. She spent most of her life raising not only her children but her grandchildren as well. Rosie enjoyed cooking. She was known for making tamales during the holidays and most of her family can share wonderful memories they have around her kitchen table. She also loved flowers and would spend some of her time outside tending to her roses in her yard. Everyone who knew her also knew that she loved to crotchet during her free time creating numerous blankets that many will hold dear to their hearts for years to come.

Rosie’s graveside service and burial will be held on March 15th at 11:00am at Greenlawn Mortuary on 3700 River Blvd.Pallbearers are her grandsons John Samuel Virrey III, Edward Joseph Hernandez III, Barry McBride Jr., Isaac Luque Jr., Chris Munoz and Larry Long. Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Rodriguez and Alec Brenoel.

The family would like to give a special thanks to P.A.Lorraine D. Campbell for everything she did for Rosie and her family.

Mom you’re loved and you will be missed but Dad has been waiting a long time for another dance and another kiss.
