July 28, 2020

Bakersfield, Ca.

Daughter of Joe and Delores Rios. Renee was born on August 7, 1965 in Riverside California. She graduated from Taft Union High School in 1983 with her diploma. In 1985 she graduated Taft College with her AS Degree and transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She graduated Cal Poly with her BS Degree in Accounting. Renee’ worked for AERA Energy for 10 years traveling, working in financing and accounting. Renee’s health caused her to grow closer to God and reevaluate her career choice. She then pursued a career in education. Renee’ earned 6 Master Degrees in education from University of LaVerne, specializing in special education. She worked for the Taft City School District for about 10 years, educating severe to moderate autistic children. She loved working with the children and encouraging them that they weren’t different just the way they learn is. Renee’ was able to teach her autistic children ways in which they learned best so that their test scores were even higher than the students without learning disabilities. Then once again her health took a turn for the worse.

Renee’ enjoyed traveling and hiking with her group of lifelong friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing. She loved being a teacher and taking care of her students. She was willing to try new things and experiences. She volunteered and was on the committee for Relay for Life in Taft. Family, friends and her students were a priority in her life. She was always willing to help out anybody in need for whatever was needed. She was a wonderful, loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews, especially her nieces Arianna and Jasmine. Renee’ was a beautiful, wonderful, caring and loving sister and daughter. She will be greatly missed.
