Obituary for Raul Morales Vasquez
Raul Morales Vasquez, 40, of Bakersfield, passed away on February 10, 2021 due to Covid-19 complications.
Raul was born on July 17, 1980 to Maria and Jesus Vasquez in Salinas, California. He grew up in the bay area and later went on to graduate from California State University, Monterey Bay. Being the visionary that he is, Raul was a founding father of Gamma Zeta Alpha Fraternity Inc., from the Lambda Chapter.
Upon graduation Raul moved to Bakersfield to use his education in graphic arts to help several local businesses build their brand. His eye for detail and keen business knowledge lead him to work for large media companies, his last being Univision. In his down time, Raul followed his passion for music by DJing. He was often spinning on Saturday’s at Murphy’s or out of town being the DJ for a wedding.
Anyone that knew Raul, knew him for his humor and sarcasm. He looked tough on the outside, but he was really a big teddy bear. His love for his nieces and nephew set the bar for everything he did. He really was the world’s best uncle. Also, probably the world’s biggest Philadelphia Eagles fan. He ensured his nieces and nephew had the “correct” football jerseys to wear.
Raul was a leader, visionary, friend, uncle, brother & son, and will be dearly missed.
Raul was preceded in death by his younger brother Jesse Vasquez. He is survived by his mother, Maria, Father, Jesus, Sister, Delfina, Nieces; Arianna, Andrea, and Gabby, and Nephew/ Godson Benjamin.
His funeral service is Friday, February 19th, 2021 at 2:00pm. At Greenlawn Funeral Homes SW- Celebration of Life Center, 2739 Panama Lane. All guests are required to wear a mask.
