He was an avid member of HOG and would jump at any opportunity to join a trip. Later in life he was more well known for his role as Santa Clause in the Bakersfield Christmas parade, The Society for Disabled Children and Adults, and various charities around town. Santa always had candy canes in his pockets during the holiday season.
