Obituary for Pablo B. Vicente

Pablo Vicente is now with his creator.

Our beloved Pablo was born on the 2nd of April, 1923 in Hagonoy Bulacan, a fishing province in the Philippines. As a child, he enjoyed exploring the outdoors and swimming in the river. Pablo was from a humble family and had to stop school at a very young age to help his father earn money making huts around town; this made him a skilled carpenter. Pablo was also a very talented artist who brought his drawings to life.

As a teenager, Pablo took a chance and moved from his province to Manila before the war. He worked as a shoe shine boy in Quiapo, Manila, outside a restaurant where he met a young beautiful waitress, Natividad, who soon became his wife; Pablo and Natividad raised three wonderful children.

Because of his perseverance and natural talent, Pablo was able to work his way up, becoming a typewriter mechanic and then a supervisor for a big American company, Marsman. He worked there until he retired in 1982. Soon after, Pablo moved to Bakersfield, California in 1990 and spent the rest of his life spending time with the family he started. Pablo spent most of his later years passing on his wisdom and sharing his experiences to his children and grandchildren. He was truly an extraordinary man who lived his life to the fullest.

Pablo’s memory and love will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him. He is survived by his three children, Norma, Susan, Ricardo; eight grandchildren, Bobby, Louie, Mikey, Fabian Jr, Rachelle, Christopher, Jeff, and Krystal; ten great-grandchildren, AnnaLynne, Ethan, Dylan, Myka, Tristan, Julian, Gabriel, Jayden, Jason and Zoey; and 2 great -great grandchildren, Jodie and Annabelle.

He will be forever missed, always loved and never forgotten.
