Obituary for Naomi Atkinson

On the evening of January 22, 2024, Naomi Constancio Atkinson, peacefully entered God’s Kingdom due to natural causes with her daughter, Mimi at her side. Naomi was 85 years old at the time of her passing.

Naomi was born in San Angelo, Texas to Josephine and Manuel Constancio on December 2, 1938. Naomi spent most of her life in Bakersfield, CA. while working in retail sales. She truly enjoyed going on treasure hunts in the local thrift stores she affectionately called “Boutiques”.

Besides “Boutique” shopping she was an active member of the Salvation Army Church where she met her late husband, Robert (Bob) Atkinson. She missed him dearly after his passing and was looking forward to joining him in paradise.

Naomi was never happier than when she had all 7 of her children with her at the same time, in the same place. She was especially fond of her dog “Fombi” and nothing put a smile on her face more than when Fombi was nestled next to her on the recliner.

Naomi is survived by her children, James Perez, Yolanda (Bill) Welch, Smiley (Criselda) Perez, Mimi (Tony) Rodriguez, Marina (Bob) Lerma, Angie (Mike) White, and Manuel Perez; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 7 sisters and 3 brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on March 1, 2024, at the Greenlawn Chapel located at 3700 River Blvd, Bakersfield, CA.
