Obituary for Michael Cameron Mayo

Michael Cameron Mayo, age 59, of Bakersfield, CA passed away on May 12, 2021.
Michael was born in Drexel Hill, PA on September 29, 1961. He graduated from Rutherford High School in 1979. He grew up in a military family living in several states during his youth such as Louisiana, Hawaii, Florida, and California, eventually moving to Bakersfield.
Michael was married to Terri Arlene on June 24, 1984; they were married 36 years.
Michael worked at the Frito Lay Kern Plant for 35 years as a packaging machine operator and maintenance mechanic. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests, from classic cars, motorcycles, running & exercise, cycling, ping pong, tennis, golf, traveling with his wife & family, but most of all the sport of bowling. His love for bowling began as a teenager where he discovered a natural talent for the sport. He continued to bowl in Kern County for over 30 years, where he enjoyed competing in many leagues & state tournaments, coaching youth leagues, and in more recent years held a role as league President and Secretary. He also fostered a love for bowling in his three sons and was very proud of their accomplishments. Michael was inducted in the local bowling association Hall of Fame in January 2020.
Michael is survived by his wife Terri, his sons Jonathon & wife Kristyn, Robert, & Joseph & wife Amy, his father Tony, his sister Michell, his half-brothers Jamey & wife Arnel, and John, and his 5 grandchildren: Chloe, Hazel, Owen, Thayer, Crosby, & step-grandson Hunter.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother Margaret Delys and step-father James Tingley.
