Matthew Ryan Ferrill, 32
April 1, 2021 – Bakersfield, CA
Matthew was born in Bakersfield, CA, September 12, 1988 to parents Michael Ferrill and Jereme Gardiner. Matthew was a graduate of Liberty High School. At age 16 Matthew began his career in the food industry, where he spent the past 4 years as the catering chef for Caesar’s Italian Delicatessen.
Matthew enjoyed cooking and fine food, his latest obsession was trying all of the gourmet meats from Snake River Farms. Matt loved to fish, always searching for the latest and greatest lures and techniques. He had a knack for catching the first fish and often catching the most. Matt loved watching hockey and was arguably the Pittsburgh Penguins #1 fan! He also loved his Dodgers and was so excited when they won the World Series. He was extremely fortunate to witness many championships between the Penguins and Dodgers. Matt enjoyed golfing with his Dad and Brother Christopher. Matt had a personality larger than life, he was always laughing and making goofy faces. He loved his family and was very proud of his recent accomplishments.
Matthew is survived by his Mother, Jereme Gardiner and life partner, Mike Morgan, his Father Michael Ferrill and life partner, Carolynn Corwin, Brother Christopher Ferrill and Sister-in-Law Brittany Ferrill, Grandfather Ruben Romero, Grandmother Arlene Miller of Fort Collins Colorado, Grandparents Stan and Diane Morgan of Lakewood Colorado. He also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
The Celebration of Life for Matthew will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10AM. Service location is at Greenlawn Southwest Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln. Bakersfield, CA 93313. Masks are required to attend.
