Obituary for Margarita Gallardo

Margarita “Maggie” Gallardo, age 56, passed away peacefully April 27, 2020 due to End Stage Renal Disease and Heart Failure. She was an Amazing Mother to 7 girls, Loving Grandmother to 8 grandchildren and the Baby sister to 9 siblings.

Maggie was born in Brownsville, Texas to Francisco and Elena Gallardo. she was so proud to be born a Texan. Maggie moved to Traver, CA as a young girl and then to Lennox, CA where she was raised. Maggie started her own family in 1984 and eventually moved out to Palmdale, CA in 1990. She spent all her years in the Antelope Valley before moving to Bakersfield, CA in 2019.

Maggie loved music, those oldies but goodies, dancing especially to “Shotgun” by Little Rob and Zapp & Roger, she was dancing all the way up until she passed. Cooking Pozole, Menudo and Tamales. Cleaning kept her mind off things; you could walk in her house and smell the Clorox & Pine- Sol she used to clean with. Above all she enjoyed & cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and close friends. She was always recording and taking pictures to treasure those moments.

Maggie was kind and loving. Anyone who met her knew that. She wore her heart on her sleeve. It did not matter what anyone did to her, she forgave them. Maggie was strong and never gave up in a fight including the fight for her life. She instilled in her seven girls’ strong values, independency, and to be assertive go getter’s in life. She would give you her shirt off her back just to make sure you were taken care of. Consider yourself Blessed to have met her. Maggie’s life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Maggie was survived by her seven children, eight grandchildren, and 9 older siblings. They invite you to join them for a homegoing service. The visitation service will be held May 21, 2020 from 4pm – 8pm and the Chapel Service will be held May 22, 2020 at 2pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, SW Building A 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA

In Loving Memory of Maggie, may you Rest in Peace. You will forever be in our hearts and memories. Never forgotten. Our Guardian Angel Forever. We love you!
