Obituary for Marcela Dionisio Fader

Bakersfield – Marcela Dionisio Fader, a Filipino immigrant turned proud citizen of the United States, longtime resident of the Bakersfield area, passed away on Monday the 29th of June at Memorial Hospital.

Born in 1936 in Hagonoy, Philippines, Marcela received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1956 and soon after received her Doctor of Medicine in 1962 from Universidad de Santo Tomas.

Marcela practiced general medicine for 20 years before migrating to the United States in July of 1982. Following her relocation she decided to pursue a career as a histology technician at Physician’s Automated Laboratory (PAL) in Bakersfield, where she worked diligently until her retirement.

Marcela enjoyed traveling, good food, socializing with her friends from church and Filipino community and spending time with her husband, Amonio, and beloved family. She was a fountain of knowledge with a distinct laugh you could recognize only to be hers.

She is survived by her husband, Amonio Fader, her stepchildren through Amonio, her siblings and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joseph will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. (900 H Street, Bakersfield, CA 93304).
