Obituary for Lloyd Willis Simpson

Lloyd Willis Simpson, 76, of Wasco, California went to be with the lord August in Bakersfield, California. Lloyd was born on March 3, 1944 to James and Viola Simpson in Wright City, Oklahoma.
Lloyd served in the Army from 1965-1967 where he was stationed at Fort Hood Texas. He married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Peterson and they had two children, Derek and Leslie. Lloyd went to work for Belridge Oil Company where he earned the name “SMOOCHY” by his friends and coworkers because he loved to grab you right when you came through the door and give you a big kiss, embarrassing most. Lloyd retired after 42 years. He enjoyed all sports, but his favorite was to coach and play baseball and softball. It was very rare for him to miss his kids and grandkids practices or games. He loved to rope all the kids and was a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd is survived by his two children: Derek Simpson, Leslie Thompson, her spouse Bobby: 5 Grandchildren: Karlee, Derek Jr, and Dustin Simpson, and Kyrstee and Kaden Thompson; 3 great grandchildren, Lexington Shields, Kaelynn and Kenna Thompson, and many other family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his parents, and his eight siblings.
