Obituary for Lee Keck

It is with our deepest sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Ausber Lee Keck. Lee passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family in Bakersfield, CA. Lee was born September 23, 1936 to Chester Ausber Lloyd Keck of Cedarville, IN and Jewell Clementine Pierson of Fayetteville, AR.

Lee was the fifth of six children and grew up on the Russian River with his three brothers and two sisters. He told many stories of the mischief he got into and the adventures he had with his siblings in Healdsburg, Calistoga, and Santa Rosa. Lee joined the United States Air Force and served as a jet mechanic. Upon leaving the USAF, he met the love of his life, Phyllis Harvey, whom he married August 20, 1959 and celebrated over 61 years of marriage. In 1965, they finally settled in Bakersfield, CA where he raised his family. He was a jack-of-all trades working in agriculture and construction. He retired from Superior Farming in 1995 where he was the supervisor for their almond huller. He loved his family, playing games, working jigsaw puzzles and fishing. He shared his love of these things with all of his family who continue these traditions.

Lee is survived his wife Phyllis; their four daughters, Jean Mack of Bakersfield, CA, Jane Mangham (Bill) of Windsor, CA, Robin Woessner (Matt) of Bakersfield, CA, and Lisa Dooley (Brian) of Albany, OR; 11 grandchildren, Justin Flournoy, Phillip Mangham, Brandee Dooley, Sarah Mangham, Brianna Robbins, Cody Woessner, Melissa Mack, Leanne Mack, Michelle Mack, Carly Woessner, and Jeffry Robbins; and 5 great-grandchildren, Bentleigh Garcia, Griffin Hadley, Ranger Hadley, Orion Donoho, and Huxton Woessner.

We are asking that you please make donations to Bristol Hospice in lieu of flowers.

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” - John 14: 1-3

“Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. - John 16:22
