Obituary for Laura Lou Dresser

Laura Lou “McKay” Dresser
“Momier”
December 7, 1947 – July 27, 2022

Laura was the sixth of seven children born to William (Wild Bill) and Mary McKay of Blythe, CA. Her life as a child and teenager was full of hardships and multiple frequent relocations finally ending in Bakersfield, CA.
Laura’s most treasured and life changing moment was the birth of her one and only child and said that she finally felt complete and satisfied. While raising her baby she attended Bakersfield Night School and graduated top of her class. She was later employed as a cashier at Floyds Garden Shop as a cashier until illness forced her into early retirement. She continued to help those she knew and became that one friend everyone needed. She loved her spending time with her growing family of one child, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Laura was a great fan of casinos and slot machines which unfortunately she didn’t get to do often enough according to her.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents William and Mary McKay, brothers Bill and Larry and sister Barbara.
Laura is survived by her daughter Reida and husband Rick Cingel, her grandchildren Daniel Haugen, Andrea and husband Mark Aguayo, and Destin Cingel and her great grandchildren Timmy Haugen, Issac Aguayo, Trevor Haugen, Hailey Aguayo, Annabelle Haugen and Roman Aguayo. Sisters Pat, Georgine and Bonita. And many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. All will miss her terribly.
A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park SW on Tuesday August 23, 2022 @ 9:00 am. Those who wish to honor her life are more than welcome to join.
