Justin La Roi Jones was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA on November 30, 1993 to Leroy Jones, Jr. and Carolyn Jones. In his youth, he enjoyed skateboarding with friends, making short films and rebuilding used cars.
A true creative, engineer and entrepreneur, Justin could always turn nothing into something. As a child, he made toys out of paper and stuck them under the Christmas tree for his sisters. As an adult, he transformed his garage into a freelance barbershop.
Justin is a proud 2012 graduate of Independence High School which succeeded his time at Actis Jr. High School and Bill L. Williams elementary, all in Bakersfield, CA. Upon graduating from high school, Justin followed his passions which led him to attend Barber College. After several years of cutting hair and other service jobs, Justin traded in his clippers to train to become a welder. His final place of employment was Industrial Design and Construction Inc., where he loved continuing his passion from childhood of building and crafting.
Justin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carolyn Gildersleeve Jones, and is survived by his father, Leroy Jones, Jr., his sisters, Shomonique Johnson, Lacey Johnson and Oguna Jones-Taylor, his brother, Leroy Jones- York, his girlfriend Trina Juarez and son Bobby J Bass, and countless other friends and family members who will remember him fondly.
