In loving memory of
John Naser Helewa
January 24th 1943-july 23rd 2022
John Helewa was born on January 24th 1943 to Naser and Aliz Helewa in Haifa, Isreal. John is survived by his wife Jezel Nahas Helewa, his 2 sisters Jamileh Helewa Khoury and Violet Helewa Azar, 5 children Tom, Andy, Kim, Vanessa, and Michael, as well as 19 grand children and 5 great grand-kids.
John was born in Haifa, and then came to Chicago in the late seventies to work odd-jobsm returning to his homeland to bring the rest of his family in May of 1980. He lived in Chicago until December of 1987, when he moved to the sunny city of Bakersfield, California, where he lived until his passing.
John was the life of any party, and always found a way to make people laugh. He loved to cook and always got offended if you did not eat or try any of his cooking. He also loved to travel all over the world, where he was respected and loved. One fact about John is that he always made an impact on the lives he touched.
John was tough, stubborn, and at times loud, but it was for a reason that made sense later which proved that he had wisdom, and to that we were grateful. John may be gone, but his memories will always live on.
We will miss him.
