Janet worked for several years at the Kern County Department of Child Support Services and later for Kern County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. She made many wonderful and lasting friendships during her years with the County.

Janet’s career was her passion. From grant writing to imparting her vast knowledge of how Government works, Janet was a strong-willed woman with a soft-spoken voice.

Janet always insisted that she host the family for the Holidays. She was a fabulous hostess and her home was filled with joy and laughter and great food.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Barbara, by her brother Ray and sister Susan.

She is survived by her brother George and his wife Martha who was Janet’s closest friend and advocate during her final illness, by her sister Marianne of Roseville CA and her sister Julie of Bakersfield.

In addition to being a devoted daughter and loving sister she was a doting aunt to her nephews Nicholas (Krystal), Mathew and her niece Katie as well as her Great Niece Molly and Great Nephew Jon.
Due to the current Covid restrictions Services will be private. A Celebration of Janet’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers take a friend out to lunch, which was Janet’s favorite thing to do.
