Obituary for Jamie Anne Bailey

July 16, 1975 - April 06, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Jamie Anne Bailey.

Jamie was born in Bakersfield on July 16, 1975 to Jim and Jeanie Bailey, and passed away on April 6, 2021. She was educated in local schools, graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1993, and received her Associate Degree from Bakersfield College. Jamie worked from the time she was sixteen years old and her final job was with the County of Kern Family Support Division before retiring. She participated in 4-H from a young age and rode and showed Paint horses. She loved all animals, from her dogs to her chickens.

Jamie, together with Dale Chesser had daughter, Kassidy, who was the joy of her life. Jamie passed on to Kassidy her love of animals and her steadfast loyalty to those she loved. If you were Jamie's friend or family, she would fight an army with you or for you.

Jamie was preceded in death by her father, Jim Bailey Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Kassidy Chesser, her mother, Jeanie Nugent, sisters, Dana (Phil) Plowman, Angie (Mike) Kruger, Jodi (Jess) Carkner and brother, Jim (Brandi) Bailey Jr. Her memory will also be cherished by nieces and nephews, Cody and Joey Gaines, Josh Kruger, Katie and Alex Dominick, Breanna and Caleb Bailey, and Justice and Jocelyn Carkner.

She was a sucker for stray cats and stray kids. Jamie was a motherly figure to all of Kassidy’s friends and is being mourned deeply by many. She also leaves behind an adopted daughter, Crystel Hubbard and stepsons Jimmy and Larz Olen.

Jamie had five boxer dogs who were rehomed by an amazing organization known as Bakersfield Boxers & Bullies Rescue that can be found through Facebook. If anyone wishes to make any sort of donation, this is the family’s charity of choice. This nonprofit organization truly loves helping animals, and made the experience of rehoming the dogs painless for the family. Jamie would have been very pleased with this outcome.

She will remain in our hearts forever.

Jamie will be buried at Greenlawn Cemetery Southwest per her wishes.

A memorial will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Homewood Suites, 1505 Millrock Way, Bakersfield, CA
