Obituary for James "Jim" Michael Haas

James “Jim” Michael Haas passed away on May 27, 2021. He was born on November 29, 1975, in San Diego, California. Jim was born three months premature, and overcame many medical challenges before leaving the hospital on February 14, 1976. Jim’s family moved to Bakersfield when he was four years old and he resided there until his death. He attended local schools and was a proud Bakersfield High School Driller graduate.

Jim never met an enemy. He would talk to anyone and had a genuine empathy for anyone in need. His friends knew they could count on him to help them whenever they called. His smile could light up a room and his personality could brighten any day. Jim enjoyed golfing, playing online video games with his friends around the world, playing cards with his Magic card group, and barbecuing for his family. Jim left this world too soon and will be so missed by everyone he left behind. He was a true gift to all the people in his life, and he will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife Cathy, sons Tyler and Max, and step-children Michael Frampton (Monica), Kelly Frampton, and Keri Lamont (Daniel). Jim is also survived by his mother, Kathryn Haas, father Charles Haas (Mary), and sister Paula Rodriguez (Rigo).

There will be a visitation at Greenlawn Southwest on Friday, June 11, from 4:00-8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Southwest on Saturday, June 12 at 10:00 am, with a Celebration of Life following from 12:00-2:00 pm.
