Harry Lee Grounds, (Butch), 73 years old of Tyler, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday April 5th, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest, on 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield CA at 11:00 am on April 24th.
Butch was born in Tehachapi CA on October 13th, 1949 to Harry and Carmeline Grounds. He graduated from Tehachapi High School in June of 1967. Butch was a veteran of the US Army serving from August of 1969 through July of 1971. He held the rank as a Specialist Four and served in Germany.
Butch married the love of his life Karen Suzanne Herbert on February 26, 1977. He and Karen settled in Bakersfield CA and had just recently moved to Tyler Texas in May of 2020.
Butch was a landscaper by trade, but was truly a Handyman’s, Handyman. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. Butch’s children and grandchildren brought him his greatest joy. His legacy is all about his family.
Butch is survived by his wife Karen, his sons Jacob and Joe, his daughter Amie Terrell and 6 grandchildren, Peyton, Harrison, Mykenzi, Kareena, Shay and Maddison. He is also survived by his brother Mike, sister Darlene and brothers Rick and Don.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, Harry Lee Grounds, his mother Carmeline Grounds and his brother Ronald Grounds.
