Obituary for Gregory Allen Ramsey
GREGORY ALLEN RAMSEY
July 9, 1956 – January 13, 2023
Gregory Ramsey was born on July 9, 1956 in Oildale, California to Jackie (Ramsey) Newman and Kenneth Ramsey. He was raised by Jackie and Donald (Pop) Newman, who came into his life at the age of 12.
Gregory graduated from South High School in 1974 and worked for Three-way Chevrolet for 43 years, retiring as Parts Manager in 2021.
Gregory was a faithfully active member of the Daybreak Baptist Church. Along with his faith, he had a great sense of humor and a quick wit that brought joy to those who had the privilege of spending time with him. He enjoyed a number of hobbies, riding his Harley-Davidson, spending time with family and traveling with his best friend, his mother, were among his favorites.
Gregory is survived by his beloved and devoted mother, Jackie Newman; his loving family in New York, (Kenneth Ramsey (Dad); siblings Michaelle Coulon; Denise Bilow; Kenneth (Ken) Ramsey Jr.; Angie Renadette); Uncle and Aunt Jerry and Linda Burrow and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gregory was predeceased by Donald Newman, who he affectionately called POP, grandparents, and several uncles and aunts.
His family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Everlight Care and their staff for the kindness, care and compassion during his illness.
Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Tuesday, January 31st at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service and lunch will follow at 12:00 at Daybreak Baptist Church, 5446 Taft Highway.
