Mr. Fernando Saldaña passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 at the age of 65 in his home in Bakersfield, CA.
Fernando was born to parents Fernando Sr. and Josefina Saldaña in 1955 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley as the fourth of six children. In 1978, he married his childhood friend and sweetheart, Madeline Cisneros. Fernando worked in construction for 40 years as a laborer, foreman, and eventually working his way up to assistant superintendent and inspector for numerous companies including The Gas Company and Energy Experts International.
In 1993, Fernando and his family moved to Bakersfield, CA. A lover of sports, he bled Dodger blue and enjoyed woodworking, history television shows, and every type of food imaginable. Fernando also loved cats, especially his own over the years, Tilly, Mimi, Zoe, Kally, and Penny.
Fernando will be loved and missed by his surviving wife of 42 years Madeline, daughters Jennifer and Kristina; son-in-law, Sean; brothers and sisters George (Susie), Isidro (Esther), Manuel, and Rosie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Fina; and brother, Luis.
