Esperanza “Hopie" Guzman Obituary
● Esperanza Guzman was 62 years of age when she passed away on June 14th 2020, in the comfort of her own home.
● Esperanza was born in Hildago, Texas on May 5th 1958 to Esperanza and Martin Alvarez. She grew up in Coalinga, CA she then moved to Bakersfield, CA which became her home. She attended San Joaquin vocational school and became a dental assistant for a portion of her life. Esperanza lived with Victor Guzman, former spouse and life long companion since the summer of 1977.
● She enjoyed visiting the coast to take in the fresh air and nature, as well as letting loose in Las Vegas to shop and take in the sights. One of her greatest enjoyments was displaying her family photo collection for everyone to see and also attending all of her grandkids social events. Esperanza was a great mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She wasn’t quick to love just anyone, but when she did she loved deeply.
● Esperanza is survived by her loving life long companion Victor Guzman and their six daughters Epifania Contreras, Ruby Guzman, Vickie Guzman, Cecilia Crawford, Lucia Loera, and Suzanna Guzman. Also their fifteen grandchildren; Victor, Steven, Yesenia, Pasqual, Aolani, Nathaniel, Isabella, Aiden, Priscilla, Valorie, Sophie, Ethan, Jayden, Jayleen, and Abraham. Sisters, brother and other family members.
● A memorial will be held on Thursday June 25th 2020 at 10:00 a.m. It will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 2739 Panama Lane, in the main chapel. Attendees are welcome to bring a letter or other memento to be placed to rest with her, if so desired. Masks will be required for the memorial.
