Ercilia Gloria Gomez passed away in the early morning hours of February 4, 2021, and entered heaven, where her beloved husband Alvaro was waiting for her. Ercilia was born to Cornelio and Socorro Ramirez in Saltillo Coahuila Mexico on May 26, 1940. In July of 1967, Ercilia married Alvaro Gomez, and together they raised three sons, Alvaro Jr., Alfonso, and Alfredo, and their only daughter Corina. Ercilia and Alvaro were married for 47 years before her beloved Alvaro passed in 2014. Ercilia was affectionately known to many children that she babysat as “Doña Gloria” or “Mi Yoya.” Mi Yoya had so much love for the babies that she cared for that she later became their godmother. Ercilia looked forward to her weekend breakfast at Denny’s, her favorite restaurant, with her daughter and granddaughters every week. She loved spending time with her family playing “Chalupa,” cooking and making tamales, and sharing her many cooking tips with her granddaughters. Ercilia leaves behind her three sons, Alvaro Jr., Alfonso, and Alfredo; her daughter Corina; her grandchildren Alfonso Jr., Isaac, Franko, Nina Rey, Emaly Rae, Raychel Ray, and Gloria; as well as her three great-grandchildren Jacalynn Jade, Julian Micheal, and Frankie Bella.
