Obituary for Dora C. Arenas
Dora Subia Arenas, 73, passed away on May 10th, 2021 with her family at home in Bakersfield, California. Dora was born in Big Springs, Texas on February 5th, 1948 to Pio Subia and Maria C. Subia.
Dora graduated from East High School in 1964 and met her husband, Hilario Manuel Arenas in 1972. They got married in Las Vegas and then remarried at St. Augustine. When it was Monday – Thursday, they argued about everything, but came Friday, Saturday, and Sunday… they needed each other.
Dora worked at Bakersfield City Schools for 15+ years. Her students loved her at Longfellow elementary. She retired in 2006.
She loved having her kids over and they loved coming over. She would have them take turns dancing with her and they would do a dance for her too.
Dora is survived by her daughters; Vicky Rivas, Michelle Arenas, and Gina Arenas, son, Manuel Raymond Arenas, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her doggie, Snowball.
She is preceded in death by her siblings; Sarah Molina, Elosia Cebblos, Toni Subia, Gabriel Subia, Feliz Subia, and Olga Subia.
