Obituary for Daniel Michael Edwards

Daniel Michael Edwards
March 7, 1992 – March 2, 2021

Daniel Michael Edwards was born on March 7, 1992 and went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2021. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Ralph and Beatrice Molderink, Frances Espinosa and John Edwards “Grandpappy”. Daniel is survived by his parents, David Michael Edwards and Lydia Lynne Edwards. Daniel is also survived by numerous loving Uncles and Aunts and precious cousins all in either America, Canada and the Netherlands.
Daniel loved the Lord and became a Christian at the age of 8 and followed in believer’s baptism on his 9th Birthday.
Daniel began playing the trumpet at the age of 5 and it was soon discovered that he had “perfect pitch”. You never had to ask Daniel to practice his music and his hard work soon proved itself after he was asked to perform with the Kern County Youth Mariachi’s at the age of 7. Later, he became the first chair with the Kern County Honor Band, Allstate, Kern County Youth Jazz Band, Valley Public Radio-Young Artists, Bakersfield Youth Orchestra, and many other ensembles as well as receiving a Command Performance. Daniel’s trumpet took him to Carnegie Hall, Washington, D.C., South Korea and other locations.
After High School, Daniel received numerous scholarships and he decided to attend Biola University in La Mirada, CA where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance graduating cum laude in 2014. Daniel made the Dean’s List all 4 years and also found time to take 1 ½ years of pre-medicine.
After graduating from Biola, Daniel made the decision to attend law school and attended the University of La Verne College of Law in Ontario, CA receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2017. While in law school, Daniel was a member of the National Moot Court, Student Bar Association and networking Co-Chair with the Public Interest Law Foundation. Daniel received a Second Place for the “Best Written Brief”, Honorary Recognition for Skilled Orator at the La Verne Law, Appellate Advocacy Competition in 2016 and CALI “Excellence for the Future Award” Legal Skills Practicum.
Daniel worked in San Bernardino and Bakersfield as a Certified Law Clerk providing pro bono legal assistance for low-income and underprivileged individuals which was a job, he often said was very rewarding.
Daniel enjoyed surfing, competitive swimming, trap/skeet shooting, traveling, playing the trumpet, piano, his family and friends and his 90-pound Siberian Husky, Beowulf. Daniel had a dual US and Canadian citizenship and was so proud of loving family to the North.
Daniel’s dreams were cut short after just 28 years however, he accomplished so many accolades during those short years than many do not experience in a lifetime. Daniel had a unique way of motivating and challenging others and his unique personality and great sense of humor which will all leave a mark on those who knew him.
Daniel will always be his Mum’s “Nookie Cookie” and her “Huggy Buggy” and his Dad’s “Best Friend” and there will always remain a huge void in their lives which only Daniel could have ever filled until they await their happy reunion one day in Christ.
