Obituary for Brian Dominic Zink

Brian was born in Bismarck, ND to Alita and Raymond Zink. He was the 2nd of 4 children. As a child Brian loved the outdoors, riding bike, playing all types of sports as well as backpacking and camping with his family.

Brian Later attended the university of Mary where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. During this time, Brian would meet and soon after marry his bestfriend Sandra Leno in 1988. Upon graduation, Brian and Sandra moved to Grand Junction, CO where he began his long and successful career as a registered nurse. This profession would ultimately land Brian and Sandra in Bakersfield, CA. This is where they laid down their roots. They purchased a home for their family, and in time they worked together at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Brian would eventually become a charge nurse of his unit, where he made lifelong friends. He was liked and respected by his coworkers, and provided his patients with the best care possible.

Brian could be stubborn and strong willed at times, but always for the best. He had a generous heart and a great sense of humor. He had a quick wit which his wife, children, family, and friends all enjoyed.

Brian and Sandra Zink would be married for 35 wonderful years before his tragic passing. Their marriage would result in the birth of 3 beautiful children; Brandon Leno, Ashley Zink, and Zachary Zink. Brian's childhood hobbies would become those of his family's as his children grew. The Zinks shared countless camping adventures and road trips back to North Dakota to visit family. In his later years, Brian enjoyed spending his time sharing long bike rides with his wife Sandra or hunting for treasures at the local antique shops.

Brian would earn the title grandpa to 8 grandchildren. This is a role he took to heart. The strong, stoic man that most knew Brian as was shattered when it came to loving his grandkids. He was a goofy, joke cracking, park playing grandpa that could not be stopped. They were all very special to him, and spending time with them brought him such joy.

Brian's whole life revolved around those he is survived by: His loving wife Sandra Zink and three wonderful children Brandon Leno, Ashley and Zachary Zink. Along with eight grandchildren Olivia, Daphney, Dominic, Hallie and Leo Torres, Bridget, Genevieve and Adam Leno. His parents Raymond and Alita Zink. His brother Jerome Zink and sisters Theresa Quebedeaux, and Nicole Glasser.
