Obituary for Betty Lou Hagar

Betty Lou Hagar peacefully departed this earthly life on February 28, 2024, at the age of 85 years. She was born July 26, 1938, in Corry, Missouri to the late Vernie and Bernice (Vance) Glenn. She graduated Dadeville High School in 1956 and left for California with her love, Lewis Hagar. They were married on June 4, 1956 in Ojai, CA and went on to have three children: Dale, Cheryl and Darrell. She raised her children with love and devotion in Bakersfield, CA and was the foundation of her family, through and through. She loved being “Nana” and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, baking, and tending to her roses.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters Eva Robertson and Mildred Thorpe, twin brother Bill Glenn, and beloved husband Lewis Hagar.

Betty leaves behind a beautiful legacy and will live on in the memories of: her son Dale Hagar, daughter Cheryl Hagar, son and daughter-in-law Doby and Joann Hagar, grandchildren CiAnne Gresham, Jordan Hagar, and Dylan Hagar, great-grandchildren Sebastian Gresham, Rory Gresham, Ellyett Hagar, Morgan Gresham and many special nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed. We love you, Nana.

The family sends their sincerest appreciation to Elda La Victoria and Divina Jumawan for their compassionate care and friendship, along with Dr. Mary Offelein and Hoffmann Hospice.
