Obituary for Berhane Abraham Mesgoun

This is a brief life story of Berhane Mesgoun. Ato Berhane Mesgoun was born from his father, Ato Mesgoun Berhane, and his mother, Tribe Weldi-Micheal, on January 8, 1951, in his village of Kudofelasi, Southern zone, Eritrea. Berhane attended Collier Elementary School from 1st to 5th grade. He attended middle and high school at San George in Mendefera.

Berhane joined the Ethiopian Navy in 1968 and successfully completed seven years of dedicated service. After the Navy, like most Eritreans, he joined the fight for independence. After a year in the field, he migrated to Athens, Greece. In Greece, he met his wife, Mebrat Negash, and by 1978, they immigrated to the United States.
As an American citizen, Berhane earned his college degree in Business in May of 1992, and was able to gain successful employment as a small business owner, Accountant, Court Reporter, Interpreter and active member of his beloved Eritrean community!

After a long illness, Berhane passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022. Berhane is survived by his 4 sons. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
