Armando Montijo Jr. was born on July 24,1963 in Lynwood, California to Armando Rivera Montijo Sr. and Annette Lomas Montijo. Armando unexpectedly passed away on January 22, 2021. At the early age of three Armando moved with his parents to Bakersfield where he would attend local schools Amy B. Seibert Elementary School, Thompson Junior High School, West High School and Bakersfield College. In his academic history he was acknowledged for his artistic ability through drawings, he was also a standout athlete, awarded Most Valuable Player in the Valley Championship in 1981. Armando started his first job in high school at Vons which transferred to a long career at Albertsons for 29 years. Mondo was extremely charismatic, his laughter was contagious, and his heart was full of love, with a magnetic personality. To know him was to love him. He was such an adventurous spirit which lead him into several different career paths. He loved working construction with his brother Robert, but his biggest passion was working with the mental health population. Armando dedicated his time to providing for the mentally ill, showing his compassion and ever giving ways any chance he was given. Armandos greatest love in life was his family, he would do anything for them. He is proceeded in death by his father Armando Montijo Sr. and his sister Laura Ann Montijo. He is survived by his daughters Lauren Montijo of Montana and Madison Montijo-McColley of Kentucky, his step daughters Amanda Nunley and Alyssa Green-Pearce, his mother Annette Montijo of Bakersfield, CA, his brother Robert Montijo and sister in law Cassi of Bakersfield, CA, his sister Jonelle Montijo-Coronado and brother in law Martin Coronado of Bakersfield, CA, Armando leaves behind grandchildren who he loved dearly, his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Viewing for Armando will be on Tuesday, February 9th 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Green Lawn SW mortuary. Funeral service will be the following day at 10:00am at Green Lawn SW in the celebration of life room. Pallbearers will be Bruce Powers, Larry Menna, Timothy Vasquez, Joseph Neri, Karson Montijo, Julian Montijo-Coronado. Truly gone too soon.
