Obituary for Andrew Nicholas "AJ" Ortiz
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Andrew Nicholas Ortiz, of Bakersfield, CA on December 31, 2020 at the age of 20.
Andrew Nicholas Ortiz, was born to Sasha Elena Acosta (McKeen) and Michael Paul Ortiz on April 5, 2000, in Bakersfield, CA.
From a young age, Andrew loved his dogs, music, his family, and his friends. He could sing you songs by Earth, Wind, and Fire from the tender age of 3. He inherited his love of music from his Grandma Gloria. His love of hip hop and rap was all his own.
Andrew was always a bright light; I believe it was why God gave him red hair. You knew he was coming, and you could feel the warmth before he even spoke to you. He was always polite and well-mannered, but he was always ready for an adventure.
Andrew is preceded in death by his Grandpa Tic-Tac, George Howard.
Andrew leaves behind his Mother Sasha McKeen, Fathers Michael Ortiz, and Steven McKeen, Sisters Ava Faires, Aalyiah McKeen, Emma Ortiz, and Bella Ortiz. Brother Gabe McKeen, Richard McKeen, and Eddie McKeen. His Grandparents, Paul and Gloria Ortiz, Manuel and Julie Acosta, and Steven and Karen McKeen. Aunts Stephanie Acosta, Alene Baum, Stephanie Bayer, and Glenda Acosta. Uncles Joseph Ortiz, Anthony Acosta, and Aaron Acosta.
Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Thursday, January 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. burial to follow at Greenlawn Northeast.
